Bring the look and feel of a quiet and sheltered forest nook into your home with an eye-catching and low-maintenance preserved moss and air plant wall art piece. The vibrant colors and textures of the preserved moss make a perfect backdrop for these epiphytic wonder plants. Each participant will receive a small wooden board to be decorated with preserved moss, provided in an array of colors, and two tillandsia plants. This touch-of-the-wild can best be admired in a humid space like a bathroom or perhaps as a gift to a friend entering the wonderful world of plants.

Join us for Air Plant 101! This plant-specific workshop will dive into the history, care, growth, and styling of air plants. Guests will also leave with an air plant of their own, to add to their collection. Perfect for those who just can't seem to figure air plants out or just want to learn more. This workshop also acts as a preliminary education class if you intend to join us for any of our future "Air Plant" workshops.
Mentally sail away to warmer temperatures by adding a little under the sea vibes to your space. We're making "Jellyfish" Terrariums using air plants and sea urchin shells. A unique use of materials and creative inspiration creates a beautiful glass space with two sea urchin air plants over an under water landscape or your own imagination. Botany will provide two medium sized urchin air plants along with sand, moss, rocks, and shells to adorn the terrarium.

Running out of room for plants? Let's put some on the wall! In this workshop, we're mounting the easy to care for and stunning hoya. A perfect way to display and grow these unique plants involves mounting them on a piece of wood or cork bark which is then hung on a wall to enjoy and grow. You'll create your own mounted piece and learn how to care for it.

It’s back! Our 2nd Grown-Up Book Fair is happening! We are bringing back the awesome vendors from last time and adding a few more to the list.
Create your own 8x10 botanical monogram work of art with a selection of pressed and preserved botanical elements including leaves, flowers, fronds, and more. All supplies and tools provided to create a single, unframed piece, with your choice of either a white or black background. This is a neighborhood wide event in the Near Northwest! Botany will join in on the fun with a plant swap and drop in re pots. This will be your last chance to repot with Botany for the season, so make a plan to bring your plants down for some fresh soil! If you have any pest free plants you want to donate or swap, we will have a table set up for plant swapping too. The area will be alive with live music, food and lots of fun, come down and see us!

A centuries old Japanese tradition, Kokedama is an exciting and creative way of repotting your plant without the pot! Using moss, we will transform our houseplants into beautiful works of living art. Ticket covers all materials needed for this workshop, including the plant. Participants will get their choice from a pre selected collection of plants.

Bring this season’s left-over seeds to the Shop and let’s swap! This is a free event, you can find something new to grow while sharing your extras with others. We’ll also go over how to save some common seeds, natives and vegetables. Please label any seeds you want to share with the name and harvest date as a courtesy to other gardeners.
Terrariums are magical! These tiny ecosystems grow harmoniously within elegant glassware and make a statement in any space. They come alive through plant styling as we fashion them into miniature landscapes through adding rocks, stone, driftwood, and other found objects. Included is three tropical plants, a glass container, and all materials and instructions needed to build your terrarium.
We’re open extended hours this evening from 5-8pm, and its Back to School Night! All educators can take 10% off all non-consignment items with their current faculty ID.

This class is a blend of plant propagation and plant styling. We'll discuss plant vs. vessel selection, the anatomy of the plant so you know where to cut, how a plant grows over time, and how to style plant cuttings so they become curated decor for your space. Attendees will be able to take home plant cuttings and a vessel. We’ll end with a Q&A to talk about any general plant care concerns or questions.
