Decisions are made by those who show up. If you’re reading this, it means you’re a member of our community, and we sincerely hope you’re planning to show up and make your voice heard on election day. Being an active and engaged citizen through voting is one of the easiest ways we can help to shape and influence our community, our country, and our world to reflect our values and beliefs. Voting is the bedrock of democracy, and if we don’t use our voice, we could lose our voice.
In this spirit, Botany and our friends at Brain Lair Books want to do what we can to encourage, empower, and celebrate your vote on election day. Below, you’ll find a short list of important resources where you can find your polling place, check your registration status, and find out who’s on the ballot in your area.
We’ll also be offering a special Election Day Discount (10% OFF!) to anyone who stops in to either Botany or Brain Lair and shows their “I Voted” sticker between Tuesday, November 8 and Friday, November 11. This is our way of saying thank you for being an active and engaged citizen.
At Botany, we also value showing up for ourselves and our own team, and we want to make it as easy as possible for our crew to cast their votes. Here’s what we’re doing for our team:
We’re offering every Botany team member a $25 bonus when they show us an “I Voted” sticker, or if they share with us a selfie taken at their polling location.
We’ll make sure our team has time to vote and no one is scheduled to work all day.
We’re making sure everyone has access to transportation to get to their polling place and reminding everyone to check their registration status and voting location.
Decisions are made by those who show up. If you’re an independent business owner, I hope you’ll consider what you can do to celebrate and empower the voices of your team and community. As an individual, you can share a reminder to vote with friends, family, and coworkers through social media posts, a text message, or a phone call, and offer to carpool with folks who might not be able to drive or have access to a car that day. There’s so many ways you can help, and I hope you’ll consider what you can do to play a part.
Thank you for being a member of our community. I’m glad we’re neighbors.
With Gratitude,
Benjamin Futa | Botany Founder & CEO
