“Decisions are made by those who show up.”
Seriously, one of our favorite lines from The West Wing.
I know you’re hearing it from everywhere and everyone right now, and for whatever it’s worth, Botany is throwing our hat in the ring of this moment by reminding you to please, please make your voice and your heart heard and seen at the ballot box between now and Election Day coming up next week on Tuesday, November 5.
We’ve compiled a list of helpful resources, dates, and deadlines to keep in mind between now and Election Day, and you can find those below.
The top voting resource that we all need to bookmark is Vote.org. This website contains complete voting information for every state. Find out who is on your ballot, what’s required to cast your vote, how to track your ballot and more all in one comprehensive and user-friendly website.

If a poll worker tells you that you cannot vote for any reason and you believe it is an error, you are entitled to and can ask for a provisional ballot. Know the laws surrounding voting rights in our state by researching the Indiana Voter’s Bill of Rights here: https://www.in.gov/sos/elections/voter-information/files/2024-Voters-Bill-of-Rights-ENGLISH-July-2024-revision-PDF.pdf.
If you need help or are facing some kind of discrimination or harassment at a polling site, reach out to the non-partisan Election Protection Hotline at 1-866-OUR-VOTE. For our Spanish speaking neighbors, that number is 1-888-VE-Y-VOTA.
In St. Joseph County Indiana, early voting is open through Monday, November 4 @ 12p at the County City Building in downtown South Bend, as well as two other locations. Further information for local voting can be found at: https://www.sjcindiana.gov/2269/Absentee-Early-Voting. Outside of St. Joseph County, please visit https://indianavoters.in.gov/.
